By Nicola Samorì, pushing the traditional gallery mentality of ‘Please do not touch the work’, in creating these beautiful and macabre paintings which are formed in layers on wood and metal plate, so the skin of paint can be bruised and distorted by hand after. Stunning play on time passing and corrosion.

By Heike Weber, inspired by Middle-Eastern cultures and their intricate carpet weaving traditions, she decided to take some aspects from this practice and manipulate them - making these extraordinary patterns floor works. Not a physical carpet or barrier, rather a surface decoration constructed from silicon strands.

remediosthebeauty:

Chen Hun-Hao mimics landscape paintings by great Chinese painters from the 11th century, only he has a slightly different take in that he uses a nail gun.  The results however, are equally as stunning and impressive.

I love the repetition of this. Every nail has its own special job and they work together to create somethig beautiful. - CS
